LittleRiverMusic is a film score facility. The heart of the studio is Motu's Digital Performer running on a Mac. All DP mixing is done on a seperate Mac running Pro Tools. Everything is hubbed off MOTUs Midi Timepiece AV, 828s and 8 Pres. Sequencing includes a modest stack of modules from Roland and Alesis. Sampling is through MOTUs Mach 5 loaded with tons of sample libraries. The main keyboard is a Technics P30. The P30 was chosen because of its incredible Steinway sample. A set of Tannoy Active monitors and AKG Studio phones are used to finesse things. Most mixes are mastered through an Avalon VT747sp vintage tube compressor/equalizer. Mics include a Neuman TLM 67, Royer R121 ribbon mic, a vintage matched set of AKG 451s with multiple capsules, a RODE NT1A, an AKG D58E, an AT4033, Sure SM58 and a vintage RCA ribbon mic. Mic preamps are Universal Audio Solo 610, and MPA Gold. On the acoustic end of things is a Taylor Acoustic, Fender CG35 classical/electric, a Yamaha Acoustic Piano, a custom made Baby Grand, a Bach Stradivarius model 183 flugelhorn, a completely restored vintage Mount Vernon Bach model 37 Trumpet, numerous hand made Peruvian, Japanese Raku, and American Indian flutes, and a ton of Latin and exotic percussion pieces...
The custom cabinetry in the studio was built to completely wrap around the engineer. This allows access to every piece of gear without having to roll all over the room. The view beyond the nearfields reveals rolling meadows and spectacular mountain views, so the vibe is pretty incredible.
